Christmas and South Africa
When school broke up me, Mum and Louis went to South Africa for the winter holidays. Unfortunately Dad could not come because his business partner was away so he had to look after the business. When we arrived in the airport we hired a car and started the long drive to Wilderness which is where we would be staying for 10 days. The drive took about 5 hours and we had to stop and buy something for lunch. When we arrived at Wilderness a man took us around the house when he had left we all chose our beds and went out to get some food. The next day we met the housekeeper Berlinda me and Louis saw her in the morning when we were going up to watch TV at first we thought it was a burglar in the house but it was just Berlinda.
One day while we were on the beach we were playing in the water when a huge wave came up and washed all our stuff away! We recovered all of out stuff but the cameras were bust so we had to get new ones. When we got the new cameras we used them a bit which drained quite a lot of their batteries.
We made some friends there called Oliver and George they were very nice and I hope to see them again.
After Wilderness we went to Christopher's house. We stayed there for one night and we went on the beach a few times. I got some shells from the beach and when I got home I made them into a necklace for Mum.
South Africa was a beautiful country and it was sunny a lot of the time that we were there but some people told us that it was not always like that. I was fun being on holiday with Mum and Louis but we all missed Dad and wished he was here. I would like to go there again but this time with Dad who I think it would be better with.
At Christmas we all woke up and me and Louis went up to Mum and Dad's bedroom we opened our stockings all together. After breakfast we each opened one present I opened the present from Paddy which was a £20 book token and electro mags set. Louis opened the Risk game that I got him and Mum opened the necklace I made her. After that we all went to our cousins' for Christmas lunch our Granny and our other cousins were also there after lunch we all unwrapped our presents together. Georgia and I found a present labelled to "anyone who has a sense of humour" we both opened it and we found it was a box of racing grannies we each took one and tried to race them. When we left we went back home and opened the rest of our presents. I got some brilliant presents a magnetix i-coaster and the inkheart trilogy just to name a couple. It was a brilliant Christmas and I had a really fun day. Best of luck to everyone for 2009!
